Madill put their 17-1 record on the line January 26 as they faced Lone Grove in a district match up. This one wouldn’t be easy, since Lone Grove’sgameplanwastoslow the game down and keep the pace to a crawl.

After moving on from Eufala, the Wildcats faced the Pauls Valley Panthers in round two of the tournament. The Panthers were no match for Madill in this one as the Wildcats tamed Pauls Valley 54-35.

Ethan Wilkerson again was a dynamo for the Wildcats, putting up 28 points and 14 rebounds, and once again amassing eight blocks in the win. Brylan James was also a big contributor in this victor with a double-double of his own, tallying 12 points and 10 rebounds and adding eight assists. The senior-laden squad continues to win in impressive fashion.

Madill moved on to the championship game to face Idabel. In what was a much closer match than the first two rounds, the Wildcats held their opponent below 40 points for the fourth straight game, going back to the win over Hugo last week. The Wildcats took down the Warriors of Idabel 49-36 to cap off the tourney.

Eventual Tournament MVP, Wilkerson, led the Wildcats with a 24-point, 11-rebound performance. JamesandGregPadgettboth dropped in nine points each in the final.

Madill now boasts a 15-1 record for the season, 5-0 in Lake Country play. Wilkerson has had quite a week, after surpassing the 2000 career point mark in the Eufala matchup. Up next for Madill are games at Sulphur and then back home against Lone Grove.
