Wildcat’s sports rich history

Madill track is the secondmost decorated sport in the Wildcats' history in terms of team titles with four combined state champion trophies. The 1964 boys track team won the state meet. The 1983, 1986 and 1988 Madill girls won state as a team.

Madill track features the most individual event state titles in school history as a program inside the MHS athletics department. Madill girls have won 39 individual events state championships. The boys have collected 28 individual event state titles. Madill's Yesenia Avila and Destiny Howell went on to win a national championship in individual events for Oklahoma Baptist University. Cline Johnson was an All-American with OU track.

Madill baseball's most recent appearance in the state tournament arrived in 1991. Mike Matlack was a catcher on that team and wasdraftedbythePittsburgh Pirates. The Wildcats have been in the state tourney also in 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954 and 1970. All lost in the state quarterfinals. Bob Muncrief, born in Madill, won a World Series ring with Cleveland in 1948. He also pitched for the New York Yankees. Madill baseball alum Derek Hamilton won the 2000 NCAA Division II national championship under D2 alltime winningest baseball head coach Mike Metheny at Southeastern as of 2017.

Madill soccer was established in 2005. The boys have the deepest run with a state semifinal appearance in 2010. The girls have achieved a playoff spot six times but have not advanced to second round.
