Three Kingston High School Seniors chose their colleges on November 18. A crowd gathered in the KMAC to watch Danna Wagnon, Amelia Mills and Taylor Spence sign their letters of intent to play softball.

Wagnon’s school of choice was Murray State College in Tishomingo to begin her academic journey. She said she was ecstatic to play for Murray State and cited the aura of the college for making her choice.

“It’s really exciting because not everybody gets to do this. I like the atmosphere, I like the coaches, it won’t be that big of an adjustment,” Wagnon said.

Mills chose a college that is quite a bit further than her two teammates. She chose Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kansas. She is also excited to play softball at the college level, and said the college coaches had an impact on her.

“I love softball, it [her success] wouldn’t be possible without my team, coach and family. The coaches helped me make the decision,” Mills said.

Like Wagnon, Spence chose a college not too far from home, also. She signed to play softball for North Central Texas College. She gives the credit of her success to her coaches, and said the decision to attend NCTC was easy.

“I’m blessed to have this opportunity; I couldn’t have done it without my coaches,” Spence said. “They [NCTC] invested a lot of time in me, and made me feel at home.”

All three ladies are hoping to continue the trend of winning championships while in

college.
