Colby Lambertsen, a senior at Madill High School, has been a part of the Madill School’s community since prekindergarten. He is the son of Tim and Julie Lambertsen and has two sisters, Kelsie and Abbie. Lambertsen’s grandparents are the late Lee and Joyce Lambertsen and the late Jimmy and the late Janice Bowers.

Lambertsen is actively involved in various sports . Heparticipatesinbasketball, golf, and archery, showcasing his athletic abilities and dedication to staying active. These activities not only provide him with physical challenges and opportunities for growth but also foster teamwork and sportsmanship.

Despite his involvement in sports, Lambertsen has faced personal challenges. He said his knee surgery this year was one of the biggest struggles he has encountered. Overcoming this setback has required resilienceanddetermination, highlighting his strength of character.

Lambertsen had some sound advice for the his younger peers. He emphasized the importance of embracing mistakes. He encouraged his peers not to beafraidofmakingmistakes, as they are essential for personal growth and learning.

This mindset reflects his understanding that setbacks and failures are valuable opportunities for improvement.

Lambertsen said one of his favorite memories from his high school years is being conference champions last year in basketball. This achievement represented the hard work, dedication, and teamwork that he and his teammates put into their sport.

The sense of accomplishment and camaraderie that comes from such achievements left a lasting impact on his high school experience. Lambertsen expressed his gratitude to his coaches for their guidance and support throughout his athletic career. He acknowledged the role they played in his growth, both as an athlete and as a person. Their mentorship and accountability helped shape him into the person he is today.

To his parents, Lambertsen wanted to convey his love and appreciation. He thanked them for their unwavering support and for attending every event they could. Their presence and encouragement have meant the world to him, and he recognized the sacrifices they have made to ensure his success.

Looking ahead to the future, Lambertsensaid he has a clear goal in mind. He aspires to become an electrician after high school.
