Kingston went in to the Wampus Cat Classic looking to improve on a tough seasonthusfar.TheRedskins faced Lone Grove to open the tournament and came away with a 54-37 victory over the Longhorns. Kingston was able to put some pressure on Lone Grove in the 2nd quarter and built a 12-point lead heading into halftime. The Redskins continued to stifle the Longhorns in the 2nd half to pull away and finish off Lone Grove 54-40.

Kingston’s 2nd round matchup was Idabel. The Warriors of Idabel came into the game with only one loss on the season. Kingston kept up with Idabel, but in the end came up short in the 62-50 setback. Idabel improved to 14-1 overall, while Kingston falls to 2-7 on the campaign as they head into the 3rd place game of the Wampus Cat Classic.

The 3rd Place game of the tournament pitted the Redskins against Pauls Valley. The Panthers came off a loss to Madill in the last round. Kingston was up to the task in this matchup and prevailed to upset the tough Pantersquad54-47. Thiswas only the third win of the year for the Redskins, and they hope to use this victory as a springboard moving forward. Up next for Kingston are games against Byng at home and then on the road against Marietta.
