Redskins fall short at LCC

Kingston v Madill

The Wildcats took possession of the “shoe” this year as they beat the Redskins 60 to 41. Coach McAdoo started with Reid Cason, Brock Rumer, Sam Walker, Parks Ratzlaff and Drew Anderson.

Rumer hit his first three pointer of the night. Walker (S) had a bucket and a free throw.However,thebigshow was the battle of the big men, 6’8” Cason and 6’6” Ethan Wilkerson of the Wildcats. Cason had two buckets, one a dunk at 6:45 to play. The Wildcats led after the first, 13 to 9.

In the second, Cason had two buckets, one was a nice put back on a offensive rebound. Hayden Seeney had the only other field goal, a two-point bucket, and Anderson had a free throw. Madill led 30 to 18 at the half.

Third quarter action had Madill extending their lead. Cason had a bucket, and Rumer had two more long range three pointers. Anderson had another free throw. The score was 45 to 27 after three quarters.

In the fourth quarter, Cason had his best quarter offensively. He had three buckets and was 3 of 3 from the line. Ratzlaff had a bucket and Rumer added a free throw to his total. The Wildcats won 60 to 41.

Box score: Cason had 21 points, two were dunks, 10 rebounds, and a blocked shot. Next was Rumer with 10 including three three pointers, Walker had three, Ratzlaff, Seeney and Anderson all had two.

Kingston v Lindsay

On February 18, Coach Bobby McAdoo and the Redskins traveled to Lindsay to take on the Leopards for the district championship. The Leopards were ranked 10 th in class 3A and had an 18 and 5 record. It was a battle, right down to the wire. The Redskins fell 49 to 42.

Reid Cason has been double teamed all season and this game was no different. TheLeopardsweresuccessful in keeping him out of scoring position. He did get to the line where he was 2 of 2.

DrewAndersonhadagood quarter; he had a three and was 1 of 2 from the line. At the end of the first, the Leopards led 14 to 6.

The second quarter was better. Cason had two buckets, SamWalkerhadabucket and a free throw. Parks Ratzlaff and Eli Oliger each had buckets. Lindsay was clinging to the lead, 19 to 17.

In the third quarter, Brock Rumer began to put together a good second half. He had a three pointer. Cason was 2 of 4 from the line. Walker had two buckets, but was 0 for 2 from the line. The score after three quarters was tied, 28 to 28.

Rumer continued what he started in the third. He had another three and added two more field goals. Cason had a bucket and a free throw. Oliger was 2 of 2 from the line. The Redskins lost, 49 to 42.
