Olivia Quapaw, senior point guard of the Lady Redskins, made the most of her two years under the tutelage of Coach Chad Rumer. On March 28, she saw the benefits come by way of a college scholarship from Murray State College to continue her basketball career. This means she will be staying close to Kingston and her friends and fans, at least for the next two years. QuapawcametoKingston two years ago from Quapaw, Okla. which is in the far northeastern corner of the state. She started playing in the fifth grade as most little girls in Oklahoma do. Her freshman year of high school she was pressed into service whenthestartingpointguard went out with an injury.

Even at a young age she dreamed of playing college ball. Due in part to her team success and the accolades that come with that, she will now see that dream come to reality. In the last two weeks, she has been named to the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association ALLState team. She was also named to the Lake Country Conference all star team.

Quapaw follows in the footsteps of former Lady Redskin Kess Reeves who continued her career at Murray State and then on to Northwestern Oklahoma State.
