Mia Laird

Mia Laird, an 18-yearold student at Madill High School, has been a dedicated and active member of her school community for the past 14 years. With a diverse range of interests and involvements, Laird has made the most of her educational journey, leaving a lasting impact on those around her.

In terms of sports and activities, her list is extensive. She has participated in various extracurriculars, including Band, Color Guard, Speech, Art, Golf, Academic Team, Gifted and Talented, Student Council, National Honor Society, Student Government, National Art Honor Society and Cavett Kids.

Laird said her favorite memory from school was this yearwhenhermarchingband received a superior rating at the regional contest.

In terms of inspiration, Laird credited her father as her sports role model. She said his passion for sports and his dedication to his own athletic pursuits have motivated Laird to push herself and strive for excellence in her own endeavors. In life, Laird said she finds inspiration from her family and the Cavett Family, a group that holds a special place in her heart.

Expressing her gratitude, Mia took a moment to thank her coaches. She acknowledged the invaluable guidance and encouragement of Mrs. Hartin, Mr. Hasty, Ms. F, Trey and Ms. Rushing. Lairdrecognizedthatwithout their support, she would not have come this far.

Turning her attention to her parents, she expressed deep appreciation for the nurturing andopenenvironment they have provided for her. They have been her pillars of strength, and she is grateful for their constant presence in her life.

Looking ahead to the future, Laird said she plans to attend the University of Oklahoma and major in Environmental Science.

As a word of advice to her younger classmates, Laird said she encourages them to explore different extracurricular activities until they find what they truly love. She emphasized the importance of putting effort into everything they do, as it is through dedication and hard work that they will find their true passions and achieve their goals.
