Mason Roberts, an 18-year-old student at Madill Public Schools, is embarking on his first year at the school. Knownforhispassionforbasketball, Roberts has already achieved remarkable success in the sport.

Born to Halie Hodges and Michael Roberts, the athlete is the proud brother of Balie Casey and JD Lewis. With the support of his family, Roberts has thrived in his athletic pursuits. He said that basketball is his sole focus, and he has dedicated himself to honing his skills on the court.

His talent and hard work has not gone unnoticed. In the 2021-2022 season, he earned the prestigious title of All-Conference Best of the ArbucklesinBasketball.This recognition is a testament to his exceptional abilities and dedication to the sport.

Despite facing challenges, Roberts has persevered and overcome injuries. This resilience is a testament to his determination and mental strength. He said one of his most cherished memories is winning the Winter Classic during his senior year at Madill. The victory not only showcased his team’s capabilities but also highlighted his own contributions to their success.

Roberts said he draws inspiration from his former coach, Joe Patton, who has played a significant role in shaping his sportsmanship and work ethic. However, Roberts noted that his siblings, Balie and JD, have had the greatest impact on his life. Their support and encouragement havemotivated him to strive for excellence in everything he does.

In addition to his athletic pursuits, Roberts said he recognizes the importance of his education. After high school, he plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in financing. Following his studies, he envisions moving out of state, owning multiple dogs, and enjoying life to the fullest.

Roberts said he is grateful to Coach Wilkerson for pushing him to grow as a person through tough love and guidance. He also expressed deep appreciation for his parents, who have provided him with opportunities and unwaveringsupport.Roberts extended his gratitude to Patton for believing in him and instilling confidence in his abilities.

As Roberts reflected on his high school experience, he offered valuable advice to others. He emphasized the importance of not taking anything for granted, as time in high school passes by quickly. He encouraged students to seek help when needed and reminded them thattheworldisnotasdaunting as it may seem.
