Lydia Landgraf is a senior basketball player at Madill High School. Her proud parents are Jeff and Stacy Landgraf along with her grandparents Scott and Janice Landgraf, Galeard and Rhonda Roper. She has a younger sibling by the name of Lauren Landgraf.

Landgraf has attended Madill Public schools for fourteen years. She currently plays basketball and has played softball in the past.

She said her biggest challenge in sports has been learning to accept that she will make mistakes. How she chooses to deal with the mistakes is equally important to her, choosing to use them as a steppingstone instead of a roadblock.

She said she has a few fond memories from playing sports.

“One of my favorite memories from basketball is the time Coach Runyan took us to Chick-fil-a after basketball camp,” Landgraf said.

“I’d like to thank Coach Runyan for pushing me to become a better version of myself each day. That’s something I’ll continue to do long after basketball is over,” she continued. “I want to thank Coach Priddy for the great advice she’s given me and for being such a positive influence on our team.”

Landgraf said her younger sister, Lauren, has inspired her most in sports.

“Her work-ethic and dedication to the game of basketball have been such an inspiration to me,” she said. “I can’t wait to watch her succeed in high school next year.”

Now, when it comes to her parents, she said they have been her biggest inspiration in her life. “

The kindness they show to those around them and the hard work they both put into everything they do have been a great example in my life,” Landgraf said. “I would like to thank my parents for always supporting me and giving me every opportunity for success. I’d also like to thank them for being such great Christian examples in my life and for always giving me sound advice.”

Landgraf’s advice to the younger class would be to always consider how the things you say and do will affect those around you.

“In twenty years, your classmates may not remember how many points you averaged on the court, but I’m sure they’ll remember your character and how you treated them.”

Her plans after high school are to attend Oklahoma State University.
