The Kingston Lady Redskins headed into the Wampus Cat Classic ready to face the Latta Lady Panthers. Kingston pressured Latta with tough defense and then added some timely threepointers to hold off the Lady Panthers to secure the win 42-35. The teams were even in the rebound department with 24 apiece. Kingston shot 42% from beyond the arc and that was the difference in the game.

Kingston faced off with Madill in the 2nd round. The Lady Redskins held off a strong Madill squad with good ball movement and timely shooting. Kingston defeated their rival Lady Wildcats 50-47. Kingston would move on to the finals to face Idabel. Kingston went into the championship game with a 10-3 record to square off against a tough Lady Warrior team touting an 11-1 mark on the year. Madill fell to 8-7 on the year and would play in the 3rd place game on Saturday.

Inthechampionshipgame of the tournament the Redskins ran into a juggernaut in Idabel. The Lady Warriors had been hammering their opponents so far in the tournament, and that didn’t stop in the final. Kingston couldn’t keep up with the Lady Warriors and fell short 64-35 to finish runner-up in the Wampus Cat Classic. Up next for Kingston are games against Byng at home and then on the road against Marietta.
