Coach Chad Rumer and his Lady Redskins returned to the court on December 16 tofacethealwaystoughClass 4A Lady Bulldogs from Sulphur. The latest polls have the Lady Redskins as the # 10 team in Class 3A with a 5 and 2 record.

The only losses the Lady Redskins have, are to Ada and Elgin, both 4A opponents. An eight-point win against Millwood probably added to their ranking. For thisgame,theLadyRedskins were determined to go to the Christmas break with a win. The final score, Lady Redskins 50, and the Lady Bulldogs 37.

In the first quarter the lady Redskins came out with a nine to zero lead before the Lady Bulldogs could find the bucket. Jaci Herndon had seven points including a three pointer. Emily Bellettini had a three and Ethel Stewart had a inside bucket. Olivia Quapaw picked up her third foul with 31 seconds to play. The Lady Bulldogs stormed back from the early deficit to trail by four, 12 to eightattheendofthequarter.

Second quarter was hotly contested. Herndon continued her good start with two field goals. Lanie French got in on the action with two field goals, Kamry Bohannon was 2 of 2 from the line. Bellettini had a bucket and Stewart added a free throw. The score going into the half time was tied at 23.

Coach Rumer must have had a good plan going into the third. The defense tightened up and the turnovers started coming. Quapaw had fresh legs and hit a field goal. Later, she hit a three pointer. Herndon hit another three pointer, as well. Bellettini had three hard fought buckets underneath and added a free throw. Stewart again scoredfromunderneath.That addeduptoaseventeen-point quarter and the lead swelled to 40 to 28.

To keep her good night going, Herndon again had a three pointer. French added two field goals to her total. Bellettini had a bucket and Bohannon was 1 of 2 from the line. The Lady Bulldogs could notkeepupthepace.Thefinal score was, Lady Redskins 50 to 37 over the Lady Bulldogs.

Box Score: Herndon had 17 points, including three three pointers. Next was Bellettini with 12, French with eight, Quapaw and Stewart each with five. Bohannon went3of4fromthefreethrow line. As a team, from the free throw line, 5 of 7.

Coach Rumer and the Lady Redskins are off for a long winter nap. They will be off until the New Years Classic that starts on January 5.
