Kingston v Madill

The Kingston Redskins faced the Madill Wildcats on December6.ForCoachBobby McAdoo and his young team, any loss is hard, especially when it comes to the crosscounty rival - The final score was 61 to 37.

It is very tough on the freshman and sophomores who have come up playing on very successful grade school and middle school teams. They have not lost very many games in their young careers. Their only option is to play hard and learn the new system that Coach McAdoo is installing. Patience will have to be the motto for now. One day they will be all experienced upper classmen.

In the first quarter, the taller and more physical Wildcats had most everything going their way. Junior Reid Cason got off to a good start. He had a field goal, and he was getting to the line, where he was 3 of 4. Eli Oliger was 1 of 2 from the line. After one quarter, the Wildcats were in control, leading by ten, 16 to 6.

Second quarter, the Redskins dug themselves a deep hole. In fact, the free throw line was the only place they could find success scoring. OligerandCashWalkerwere each 2 of 2. Cason missed his only attempt. At the half, the Wildcats had a comfortable lead. 47 to 22.

The third quarter was somewhat better. Brock Rumer, Oliger and Walker all had field goals. Oliger hit his only free throw attempt. The Wildcats were in control, 47 to 22.

ThefreshmanduoofRumer and Hayden Seeney found some success beyond the arc in the final quarter. Seeney had two and Rumer had one. Rumer also had two buckets underneath. The final score, 61 to 37.

Box score: Seeney lead the team with 11 points, next was Rumer with nine, Oliger with six, Cason had five and Walker (C.) four. As a team, from the free throw line, 9 of 13.

Kingston v OCS

The young Redskins and Coach Bobby McAdoo are looking every game to get better and gain experience. The December 8 game was another step in that direction. The Redskins faced the Saints of Oklahoma Christian School.

The Saints prevailed but the Redskins showed signs of coming together as a team. This game was also a re-play of sorts when these teams met last season on this same court. Reid Cason was matched against the Saints big man. They are clearly each team’s best player. Cason managed a better showing of the two today. The final score, 62 to 49.

In the first quarter, the Saints controlled the tip and went to work. They built a lead but the Redskins kept fighting to keep in the contest. Cason seemed to have extra motivation . He responded with a big dunk down low. He was also hitting the boards hard.

Cash Walker was also getting rebounds. Baskets were hard to come by. Cason had two buckets, Brock Rumer and Hudson Everhardt each had a field goal. The score after one quarter, 19 to 8, advantage OCS.

The second quarter had the Redskins falling into the trap of allowing three or four baskets in a row and then settling down and chipping away at the lead. Cason had five points in the quarter, Everhardthadathreepointer and a field goal. Hayden Seeney came in from the bench and hit two three pointers. At the half, the Redskins are still trailing, 35 to 26.

TheRedskinskeptscratching away at the lead but couldn’t break it under seven points. Eli Oliger had two hard-fought baskets underneath, Anderson and Sam Walker each had one. Cason had a bucket. Seeney got to the line and was 2 of 2. The lead swelled to 11 and the score was at 50 to 39 after three quarters.

Rumer added a three pointer to his total. Cason had three the old fashion way, a big dunk and a free throw. Walker got his two via the free throw line. Oliger was 1 of 2 from the line. Final score, 62 to 49 Box score: Cason lead the team with 16 points, Seeney had eight, Everhardt seven, Rumer and Oliger each with five, Anderson had four and Walker (C) with two.

Kingston vs Cushing

The Redskins took on the Cushing Tigers on December 9 in a second-round game at theDaleTournament. Coach Bobby McAdoo and his team took another shot to the chin, but they are still on their feet and still swinging. The final score, 72 to 39.

In the first quarter, Sam Walker, Hudson Everhardt, Eli Dougherty, all had field goals. Hayden Seeny had a three pointer.Also,WalkerandSeeney were both 2 of 2 from the line. After one quarter, the Tigers were on top, 19 to 13.

The second quarter had Reid Cason with two field goals, and he was 1 of 1 from the line. Eli Oliger had a field goal and was 1 of 4 on his free throws. Ewen Weaver had a bucket. The score at the half was Cushing 39 to Kingston 23.

Oliger had a nice third quarter with two three pointers. Cason had two more field goals. Everhardt had a bucket. The score going to the fourth was 57 to 35. Walker and Everhardt each with a bucket in the fourth. The final score, 72 to 39.

Box score: Cason and Oliger each had nine points, Walker (S) and Everhardt finished with six. Next was Seeney with five and Bridgman and Weaver with two each.

Kingston vs Santa Fe South

The Redskins faced Sante Fe South on December 10. They came out with a good effort and energy on Saturday morning with the match up. Coach Bobby McAdoo and the Redskins log their first win. The final score, 55 to 33. This one was all Redskins.

The shots were falling in the first as the Redskins pulled out a lead and held it. Everyone wanted in on the scoring. Reid Cason was very active with four field goals, one a two-handed flush.

Drew Anderson had a good start, a three pointer, another field goal and 2 of 2 free throws. Brock Rumer was locked in on his three pointers, he had two. That’s all they needed to have a 21 to 6 lead at the end of the quarter.

Sean Seeny got in on the scoring with two nice three pointers. Eli Oliger had a field goal and a free throw. In fact, it was mostly all free throws after that. Ewan Weaver went 3 of 4, Sam Walker was 1 of 2, Rumer was 2 of 2. The Redskins were sitting on a sixteen-point lead going into the half. The score, 36 to 20.

In the third quarter, the Redskins were led by Cason and Seeney. Cason had a bucket and was 4 of 4 from the free throw line. Seeney had two field goals. ReidPattersonaddedafieldgoal. The Redskins were one quarter away from their first win. The score, 48 to 22.

Cason put the idea of a comeback by Santa Fe to rest with another emphatic dunk. He also was 2 of 2 from the line. Oliger had another field goal and a free throw. The final score was 55 to 33.

Box Score: Cason lead the team with 18 points including two dunks, and 6 of 7 from the line. He was an absolute beast on the boards. Next up was Seeney with 10 points, Rumer had eight, Anderson with seven, Oliger with six, Weaver had three, and Walker (Sam) with one. As a team, 16 of 23 from the free throw line. The Redskins will host the Sulphur Bulldogs on Friday night at the KMAC.
