Joslyn Stumblingbear is a senior from Madill High School and has attended Madill schools since Pre-K. Her parents are Jaclyn and Tyler King. She has three sisters named Vanity, Mercedes, and Onelia.

She competes in cross-country, t rack and field, basketball, softball, and she even cheered her freshman year.

Over the years, Stumblingbear has placed and won numerous medals at most of her crosscountry events and track meets. She said the fear of failing has been her biggest struggle. She said her favorite memory from her sports experience is the number of friends she has made and the bonds they created.

Stumblingbear said that she is extremely thankful for her coaches because they have pushed her to be the best player and runner. She continued to say that she is grateful for her mother being there to push and encourage her, because she feels like all the hard work is finally paying off. She said th at they have molded her into the person she is today.

“In life, I have been inspired by so many people, but my mom is my biggest inspiration because she always has a smile on her face no matter how hard things get. She has made everything happen in my life, even when I thought it wasn’t possible,” Stumblingbear said. “My papa was always an inspiration to me as well. I miss him dearly because when it came to sports, prior to his passing, he was always there for me and was one of my biggest supporters.”

Stumblingbear said she plans to continue her academics and athletics journey at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. Her plans are to study pre-med, major in biology, and eventually make a career in sports medicine.

Her advice for the younger class is to always work hard because “all the hard work you are putting in now is going to pay off, so just be patient.”
