Hannah Elkins, a senior at Madill High School, has had a remarkable journey throughout her academic and athletic career. Since pre-kindergarten, she has been a part of the Madill public school system, where she has thrived both inside and outside the classroom.

With Steve and Jennifer Elkins as her parents, Hannah has a supportive family. She has a brother named Hunter and a twin sister named Haylee Elkins. She said her grandparents, Ray and Kay Elkins, as well as Jeff and Maribeth Hudson, have also played a significant role in her life.

Hannah is actively involved in various extracurricular activities. She participates in basketball, track, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), the National Honor Society, the National Art Honor Society, the Johnson O’Malley program (JOM), the Gifted and Talented (GT) program, and the Oklahoma Indian Student Honor Society.

In basketball, Hannah and her team achieved the title of district champions during her sophomore year. She received honorable mention in the 2021-2022 LCC All Conference Team and the 2021-2022 All Ardmoreite girls’ basketball team.

She said that one of her favorite basketball memories was when her team reached the championship portion during the winter classic in her senior year. In track, she fondly remembers going to the state competition in both herfreshmanandsophomore years.

Hannah said she draws inspiration from her basketball and track coaches, who have guided and motivated her throughout her athletic journey. In life, she credits her parents for being her ultimate source of inspiration, always providing endless support even during challenging times.

Grateful for her coaches’ belief in her abilities and their constant push for improvement, expressed her gratitude to all the coaches who have coached her.

To her parents, she gave a heartfelt thank you for their unwavering support, not only in sports but also in her academic pursuits and personal growth.

Looking ahead, Hannah said she plans to attend either Murray State College or East Central University to pursue a degree in nursing. Her dream is to become a neonatal nurse, caring for newborns in need.

As she reflected on her high school journey, Hannah advises younger students to cherish their time and enjoy every moment because senior year arrives faster than expected. She encouraged them to find joy even in diffi cult times and persevere to reach the rewarding and fun parts of their high school experience.

Hannah is an exceptional student-athlete with a bright future ahead, driven by her passion for sports, her dedication to her studies, and her desire to make a difference in the lives of others as a neonatal nurse.
