Chance Whitman is a senior at Madill High School, known for his active involvement in various extracurricular activities. Born to Glynn and Tania Whitman, Whitman has made a significant impact in his school community.

His diverse range of interests is evident through his participation in numerous clubs and organizations. He is an active member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA), Gifted and Talented program, National Honor Society (NHS),StudentCouncil, Speech/Drama,FishingClub, and the Academic Team. This extensive involvement showcases his commitment to both academic excellence and personal growth.

Speech holds a special place in Whitman’s heart, as he has achieved great success in this area. He has earned numerous medals in speech competitions, and his talent and dedication have led him to qualify for the State Speech competition for three consecutive years. He said his passion for speech began in middle school, and he has continued to excel in this area throughout his high school journey.

Whitman'sinvolvementin FFA began in the 8th grade, highlightinghislongstanding commitment to agricultural education and leadership development. This organization has provided him with opportunities to enhance his knowledge and skills in the field of agriculture.

Moving frequently has been a significant challenge for Whitman throughout his life. However, despite the hardships associated with relocation, he has remained resilient and said he has found solace in riding broncos in high school and open rodeos. This pursuit has not only allowed him to overcome challenges but has also provided him with valuable friendships and unforgettable experiences.

When it comes to inspiration, the senior said he looks up to his mother, considering her the hardest worker he knows. Her dedication and work ethic have undoubtedly influenced Whitman’s own drive and determination.

Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude to Mrs. Hartin, his speech coach, teacher, and a maternal figure in his life. He said he appreciates her guidance, support, and the role she has played in his personal and academic growth.

Looking towards the future, Whitman said he has been admitted to Oklahoma State University (OSU) for the class of 2024. He plans to major in Farm and Ranch Management, aligning his academic pursuits with his passion for agriculture. His acceptance to OSU marks an exciting next step in his educational journey.
