Kingston v Sulphur

The Redskins faced the Sulphur Bulldogs on Friday, February 3. They gave it a tough fight but just could not get over the hump. They will have to settle for a split this season as the Redskins won earlier in December at the KMAC. It was close and really could have gone either way.The final score was close, Sulphur 42 the Redskins 39.

In the first quarter, the Bulldogs were set on not letting Reid Cason be the reason they lost. It was another night of double teams for Cason. He had two field goals and missed his only free throw attempt. BrockRumer,HaydenSeeney, Eli Oliger all had buckets. At the buzzer, the score was tied at ten.

In the second quarter, double teams and all, Cason demolished the Bulldogs. He started it off with a massive blocked shot and then followed it up with a big dunk. Sulphur needed to regroup and called a time out. Cason went on to have three more buckets and was 4 of 5 from the line. That’s a 12-point quarter as he outscored the Bulldogs by himself. Drew Anderson scored two buckets. The Redskins held a 26 to 17 lead at the half.

The Bulldogs came alive in the third and cut into the lead. Rumer had two buckets and missed a free throw attempt. Anderson had another bucket but missed his free throw. The plan on Cason worked as they held him to two free throws. The score going to the fourth quarter, 34 to 30, Redskins lead.

In the fourth, Sam Walker had a bucket as did Parks Ratzloff. Cason was 1 of 2 from the line. The Bulldogs scored 12 and won by three. The final score, Bulldogs 42, to Redskins 39.

Box Score: Cason lead all scorers with 19 points. He was 7 of 9 from the line. Anderson and Rumer each had six. Walker, Ratzloff, Oliger, and Seeney all with two points each.

Redskins vs Tishomingo Indians

The Redskins faced the Tishomingo Indians on February 4. They stayed calm and took care of business, down by one point with just seconds to play. The Redskins won over the Tishomingo Indians 54 to 52.

In the first quarter, Reid Cason was good for three field goals and was 2 of 2 from the line. He was off to a good start despite the double teams. Brock Rumer hit a three to keep the score close. Redskins trailed by three points, 14 to 11.

The second quarter was rough for Cason, but he managed a field goal, a big dunk, and was 2 of 2 from the line. This time the help came from Hayden Seeney and Eli Dougherty. They both had three pointers. The Redskins trailed by 8, 29 to 21, going into half time.

Third quarter action was a team effort. Cason had a field goal and was 2 of 4 from the line. He had a huge blocked shot that seemed to spur his team on. Rumer hit another three and Cash Walker had two goals. Parks Ratzloff and Eli Oliger each had buckets. Only down by one point, 37 to 36, the stage was set for the fourth quarter.

After a misunderstanding with the ref, Ratzloff went to the bench while the Indians were shooting technical foul shots. For whatever reason, he quickly came back into the game, with another level of determination. In a short time span he was 4 of 4 from the line and hit a field goal. Then he topped it off with a three pointer.

Cason had two buckets. Move ahead to a Redskins timeout. Coach McAdoo inserted Seeney back into the lineup. He drew up the play and Seeney let it fly, nothing but net. Indians called a time out with 4.7 seconds to play. Tishomingo could not connect, andtheRedskinspicked up another Lake Country Conference win. The final score was 54 to 52.

Box Score: Cason again led the team with 20 points. He was 6 of 8 from the free throw line. Next was Ratzloff with 11, Rumer and Seeney each with six points, Walker (Cash) had four, Dougherty three and Anderson and Oliger with two each.
