Danny Lima is a senior at the Madill High School and has been in the Madill district since the eighth grade. Over the last four years, he has participated in football and track with the Wildcats.

Lima has two younger siblings who attend the Madill schools as well, Marlene and Joey Lima. He has an older brother, Victor Garces and a proud mother by the name of Amelia Carrillo. Lima attributes his success to his family.

“My mom and brother are my inspiration in life. My mother raised me as a single parent and has turned me into the man I am today,” Lima said. “And my brother has taught me to work on what I am doing today and has taught me a lot in life. I need to say thank you to my mom for everything because I don’t know where I would be without her.”

He said that hanging out with all his teammates from football, eating, and having get togethers at his friend’s Ty’s house is what he thinks he will miss the most of his high school days. When it comes to his inspiration in sports, Lima said he is not sure who to credit.

“I’m not really sure who inspires me in sports, I really just try to motivate myself and others.” Lima said.

“I do wanna say thank you to my coaches for believing in me and pushing me to be the best.” Lima added

As of right now, Lima said he is just trying to keep up with his grades and beating the heat at football practice. As far as advice goes for the younger classmen, he encourages them to “stay on top of your grades and play all four years because you’re going to miss it.”
