Isaiah Marris is a very talented senior who attends Madill High School. He has attended Madill Public Schools since he was in Pre-K. He is a proud member of the speech team, where he placed third in prose his junior year, along with the being a member of the percussion section of the Madill band. He earned the nickname “Tambourine” while jamming out in a competition during his freshman year.

Marris has two supportive parents by the names of Dibbon and Sarah Marris. He also has a younger sister, Dahlia Marris, who is a freshman at Madill High School, as well. He said his inspiration is somebody close to his heart.

“My dad has always been my inspiration to try my best at what I’m good at and point me in the right direction whenever I’m in a tight spot,” said Marris.

He said he is thankful for all the love and patience his parents have shown him.

“I want to tell my parents thank you for putting up with me and being there for me when I wasn’t even there for myself. You have no idea how much I owe you, love you, and appreciate you two,” said Marris. “You always help me, and I will always be proud to have you two as my parents, and to my sister, I want to say, just like mom and dad you have no idea how much I love you and how much I hated myself for not spending time with you, along with our parents. That’s what I get for acting the way I did, but more than anything, what I really want to say is good luck with softball and do your best in high school!”

Marris said he wanted to give some advice to the under classmen.

“If you ever feel like you need someone to talk to then you should ask either your favorite teacher or one your trust,” he said. “They will help you and if they aren’t able to then they will at least point you in the right direction.”

He said he will cherish the time he had in the Madill band.

“To the band directors, thank you all for giving me the best seven years in band from the beginning all the way to now, it’s been fun,” Marris said. “To the Speech coach, thanks for giving me the chance to compete in something amazing.”

When it comes to Marris’s future plans, he said he is still trying to figure things out, but most likely he plans on joining the military to mature and then afterwards he would like to become a video game designer.
