Tincie “Oteka” (Shebester) Standifer, 97, passed from this life on March 7, 2024 in Madill. Oteka was born October 29, 1926 to Flora (Smith) and Jerry Shebester in Lebanon, Okla.

Oteka attended Lebanon Schools until the 8th grade then graduated from Madill High School in the class of 1943 at the age of 16. Upon graduation, she enrolled in beautician school in Ardmore and worked in this field for a short time.

Oteka Married Huss Standifer on March 21, 1950 in Gainesville, Texas. They were married for 48 years where they had three children, Judy, Cathy, and Laura. Oteka began working at Joe Brown Trucking Company and remained there for 28 years as an accounting clerk. Oteka was a member of the Church of Christ on Merrick Drive.

Oteka was a skilled seamstress, even making her daughters’ clothes. She belonged to the Carter County Homemakers. She enjoyed traveling with the First National Bank Ladies. She was loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

Oteka was preceded in death by her husband, Huss Standifer and her parents, Jerry and Flora Shebester.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Johnson and husbandFermonofLebanon,CathyMcDanielandhusband Terry of Lebanon, and Laura Moore of Lebanon; grandchildren, Cody Spikes and wife Sara of Little City, Tosha Jones of Ardmore, Wesley Johnson and wife Kay Lynn of Madill, Lucas Johnson and wife Kenda of Lebanon, Adrian Emge and husband Austin of Madill and Carly Moore of Lebanon; great grandchildren, Colton Hunter and wife Sami of Dickson, Eli Hunter and fiancé Sky of Ardmore, Lilly Mitchusson Johnson, Sterling Johnson, and Adelyn Emge; and great great grandchild Skye Hunter.

Funeral services for Oteka were 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Mike McGowan officiating. Interment followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation was Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.
