Thomas Shelby Dodd, 77, of Kingston, Okla. passed away on April 22, 2020 at his home in Kingston surrounded by his family. He was born on June 8, 1942 in Powell, Okla. to the late Harmon Dodd and Nannie Mae Bridgeman Dodd.
Shelby was raised in Powell and later in Madill where he graduated from high school in 1960. He joined the United States Army where he served for several years and received an honorable discharge. He moved to south Texas in 1968 where he owned and operated Sooner Roofing Company for 25 years.
In 2004 he moved back to the Kingston area where he has lived the rest of his life. Shelby married Vickie Warren on October 5, 2013 in Kingston. He enjoyed ranching, loved his grandbabies, and always enjoyed lunch with Cody.
He is survived by his wife Vickie Dodd of Kingston, Okla., son Cody Warren Dodd of Kingston, Okla., daughter Zenita Boone and husband David of Sullivan, Ind., sisters: Geneva Matlack and husband Jim of Ardmore, Okla., Marti Chalk and husband Mike of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren: Justin Dodd and wife Joslyn, Austin Coulby, great grandchildren: Easton, Jack and Charlotte, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Shelby was preceded in death by his parents, first wife; Peggy, and his two brothers; Norman and Wilburn.
Services were held Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 10:00 am at the Rocky Point Cemetery, Kingston, Okla. Larry Lee officiated the service. Service was under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
