Ethel Marie Henson, 96, passed from this life to eternal life on April 4, 2024 in an Ardmore care facility. The daughter of the late Clyde Alexander and Virgie Cordelia McAdoo Wallace, Marie was born September 26, 1927 in Fobb, Okla.
She married Ivy Leland “Berl” Henson on October 20, 1945 in Gainesville, Texas and they shared 70 years together before his death on January 25, 2016.
Marie was a homemaker and a faithful pastor’s wife. She enjoyed cooking and sewing, and collected dolls. She taught junior church for many years, and also was a cake decorator.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Billy and Elmer Wallace and sisters, Juanita Devins and Alloy Herndon.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Diana Griffin and Kathy Henson; sons, David Henson and wife Karen; Terry Henson and wife Judi Ann; her sister Delilah McDaniel;grandchildren,ShannonBrown,JonathanGriffin, SeanGriffin,AnDinaWiley,EricaMinor,JessicaMcClendon, Jennifer Ellis, Beau Bean, David Cox and Chris Cox; and numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ethel Marie Henson were Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel with Reverend Raymond Norton officiating. Interment followed at Willis Cemetery.
