Awalt
Eric Don Awalt 64, of Linn, Okla. passed from this life on Sunday, September 20, 2020 in Madill. He was born on August 8, 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Bill Leon Awalt and Treva Elenora Riddles Awalt.
Eric grew up in the Linn community and attended Madill Schools and graduated from Madill High School in 1974. He went to Murray State College before going to work for the Oklahoma State Highway Department.
Eric married Cathy Jean Stewart on February 28, 1975 in Sherman, Texas. He went to work for the Postal Service and Medically Retired in 2000. Eric was a member of the Little City Baptist Church and battled some major medical issues within the last several years.
He is survived by his wife Cathy Awalt of Linn, Okla., son Billy Awalt and wife Vickie of Linn, Okla., his daughters; Crystal Walters of Ravia, Okla., Amanda Wright and husband Patrick of Ector, Texas, his adopted son, James Awalt of Linn, Okla., his brothers; David Awalt and wife Caryn of Linn, Okla., and Danny Awalt and wife Beth of Linn, Okla., his brother-in-law Donald Stewart of Linn, Okla., his nine grandchildren; Ashley Thomas, Nickie Hibdon, Justin Awalt, Samantha Garrett, Emilee White, Franklin Reed, Sean Reed, Alisha Carper, and Amaryan Wright, eight great grandchildren, his many cousins, nephews, nieces and two aunts; Sharon Foote and Linda Jo Laird.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Kim Awalt.
Honorary Casket Bearers were Jay Porter, Gale Cass, Gary Moore, Richard Moore, Joe Hartin, and Ricky Lott.
