If one were to drive down Hwy 70A almost to where it cuts back by the lake, they would typically see an RV Park nestled in some beautiful landscape. However, now that Halloween is near, the ghosts and ghouls have taken over. No need to worry, they are friendly.

McBride RV Park is located at 8003 Hwy 70A in Kingston. Collie Hatto, lovingly called Ms. C. by anybody lucky enough to know her, bought the land over two years ago. When she purchased the land, it was a rundown, overgrown, abandoned trailer park.

Ms. C., along with help, has cleared a portion of the land and turned it into a beautiful spot for RVs. Currently, the property can house approximately 15 RVs. Their goal is to clear enough land for 50 spots. They are also planning on building pavilion area, a laundry room and showers.

They are currently planning for a chilling Open House, so community members can see what the owner has accomplished. They are planning a live event on October 31. There are plans to have a live band, a midnight storyteller – to tell all the scary, chilling stories, and to cook an entire hog.

A fire breathing dragon, the Frankenstein monster and other ghoulish figures have sent in their RSVPs for the event. Fittingly enough, they are located next to the Woodville Cemetery. Maybe some of the ghosts from there will join the festivities.

Ms. C. said there is still quite a bit to achieve, and the park is a “work in progress.” Once they have more spaces cleared, they plan on hosting an actual Grand Opening.
