The Madill FFA Chapter partnered with the local community organization Santa’s Elves and teachers from each Madill Public School site to gather non-perishable food items for those in need this Holiday Season. Madill school students got in the giving spirit and donated almost 7000 pounds of food collectively, surpassing the FFA Chapter’s collection goal of 6000 pounds of food.

“The Madill School community, including students, teachers, administrators and staff, always come through to help those in need in the community through our annual food drive and it was no different this year, even with the cost of food being more we still surpassed our collection goal.” says Madill FFA Chapter President, Emily Arnold.

To show their appreciation for those teachers and students that donated, the Madill FFA Chapter and Santa’s Elves awarded the classroom at each school site that collected the most food with a $100 classroom grant tobeusedforstudentrewards or school supplies.

Madill FFA Advisor, Michelle Harper pointed out the importance of giving.

“It's important to all of us involved to know that the food collected through our Annual Holiday Food Drive is making an impact right here in Marshall County. All the food collected, plus more donations from local businesses and the Santa’s Elves are bagged and distributed to those in need on a designated day just before Christmas. I think that’s why people are so generous, they know they are helping their neighbors.”
