A Marshall County Deputy, Kasey Cox, was honored by a corporation and a semilocal radio station. Academy Sports and Outdoors teams up every Friday to honor a first responder.
Cox was named by the Academy in Ardmore, and KICM 97.7 FM as the winner of the First Responder Friday.
To be eligible for the award, somebody from the community must nominate the first responder. They can do that by submitting their name and a brief backstory to contest@ kicm.com.
The KICM’s Facebook post outlined all of the assets that Cox contributes to the community and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
“Deputy Cox truly feels it is his duty to protect and serve everyone in his community,” the post stated. “Officer Cox is known for respecting his fellow men and even if you are caught in wrongdoing, others say he still treats you as a human being.”

Cox was honored with a dual accolade. Not only is he the First Responder Friday winner, he is also the first one from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department to be bestowed the honor.
Cox said receiving the award was an honor.
“It’s awesome and I’m glad I have a supportive community backing me,” he said.
