Twisted M Boutique, LLC is a thriving clothing and accessories store located at 709 Hwy 70 E Kingston. The boutique offers a wide variety of products, including clothing, accessories, jewelry, shoes, custom shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies. The business has been operating since May of 2020, and a physical storefront was opened in April of 2022.

Owner Shyli Mitchell said the inspiration behind the establishment of the boutique stems from a personal journey. In April of 2020, Mithell’s oldest son was diagnosed with Pre-B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This unfortunate event led hertoseekawaytostayhome with her son and attend his doctor appointments.

Consequently,shedecided to start an online boutique, which turned out to be a blessing for her and her family. The business provided the flexibility to support her family, work from home and create her own schedule.

Mitchell noted that one of themostrewardingaspectsof running Twisted M Boutique is the opportunity to meet incredible people. Through her business, she has formed numerous friendships with customers who have inspired and believed in her and her business. She said the connections made through Twisted M Boutique have enriched her life and added value to her entrepreneurial journey.

Mitchell said she can’t find just one favorite memory about owning the business. The journey has been filled with countless incredible moments that have made a lasting impact on her. Each customer interaction, successful sale and positive feedback has contributed to the joy and fulfillment she experiences as a business owner.

Prior to owning the boutique, Mitchell worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Resident Assistant (RA) and bartender. The transitiontorunningherown business allowed her to pursue her passion and create a livelihood that aligns with her personal circumstances and goals.

Mitchell and her family have lived in Kingston for over three years, although they are originally from Erick, Okla. They have found a home in Kingston and are actively involved in the community.

Looking ahead, Mitchell said she has plans to expand her business by adding new machines that will provide more options for her customers. Shesaid sheaspirestoacquire a DTF (Direct-to-Film) machine and an embroidery machine, which will enable hertoofferevenmorecustomization and unique products.
