Although we have endured some cold mornings, the weather generally warms up by midafternoon and I have to say fall is turning out to be a beautiful time of year.

I want to send an early reminder that the Shay Community Center will be having their Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 14 at 6:30 p.m. The center will provide the turkey, while everyone else is to bring their favorite Thanksgiving dish to share. Come and enjoy the fellowship. The Buncombe Creek Community Center has cancelled their Christmas and Thanksgiving meals this year but other events are still on the agenda.

The Texoma Southern Baptist Church will host “The Faith of Our

Founding Fathers”, a presentation in Eighteenth Century clothing that will cover: America’s Christian Foundations, the dangers America faces today and how to see Revival in the 21st Century America. It will be held on Sunday, November 10 at 10:30 a.m.

The flyers are going up this week around Buncombe Creek to seek anyone who is interested in putting Christmas lights down at the Marina again this year. We will have a bon fire, chili and hot dogs at dusk when we light up the Christmas lights across from the Marina on November 30 at dusk. Bring drinks and your lawn chairs and come on down.

Please call Cheryl at (580) 564-7102 if you would like to put your lights up for business or residential. The more lights, the better.

Honor your Veterans with a moment of silence on November 11 as we reflect on all they have sacrificed for our freedom. Have a safe week.
