Time passes ever so quickly it seems. Christmas is only 16 days away from this Wednesday’s posting. The weather has been very pleasant for the most part, with sunshine on most days.

The Buncombe Creek Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting their Christmas Party on Tuesday, December 15 at 11:30 a.m. at the Shay Community Center. Everyone should bring finger food, a $10.00 gift for the Dirty Santa, and some holiday cheer. Hopefully, everyone can make it.

A few of the Ladies distributed lap quilts to the Veteran’s Home in Ardmore with approximately 76 quilts, and 24 scarves. The Kingston Care Center will receive 37 quilts. Kim Gentry, Tammy Smith and Phyllis Cox spent a tremendous amount of time making the quilts. Thank you, ladies.

Also, that night at 7:00pm at the Fire Station, the Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting their monthly meeting. Everyone is welcome.

I hear there was a good turnout at LaJeanne’s Plants’N Things this past weekend. The Firefly Art Festival is coordinating with the nursery in sponsoring a Christmas Festival in December that will continue for the next two Saturdays Dec. 12 and 19. There will be activity for kids, pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, as well as arts and crafts. Be sure to come out and enjoy the festivities.

I send out prayers and thoughts of good tidings to those who are sick or just trying to get through this difficult time during the holidays. Talk to you soon.

“One small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day!”
