Texoma Fire District:

Well the rain was sure a welcome sight this past week. Hate to think of summer on its way out, but time marches on!

It has been a quiet week for the fire department, but no complaints at all. We have been really fortunate that a burn ban has not been issued, but everyone has been so good about their control burns. As dry as it is, be prepared if you do a burn. Plus, it is just to hot to be outside.

The fire department is doing in house training, so they stay busy with all that. The more training, the better prepared when a fire call does go out.

The Ladies Auxiliary is in full swing on the final touches for the Mexican-Pile-On to be held Saturday, August 31st at 4:30 pm in the Texoma Community/Training Center. Mark your calendars and come on down.

This is the last one for this year, so come get a plate full and enjoy all the homemade cakes and pies. Don’t forget we do have Tee shirts on sale. All proceeds go to the upkeep of the fire department.

I have had ladies asking about the activities at the center, listed below is:

Cards/game day: 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, Noon, at the Community Center. More information call Arlena Cagle at 580-564-4418.

Exercise/stretching classes: Monday & Wednesday weekly, 10:00 am, at the Community Center. Just show up!

Everyone is welcome to attend these events. Our crafts/ bake sale is on the scheduled for Saturday, October 12th. I will be reminding everyone closer to the date.

Just a reminder that the Light House Church is still hosting their Wednesday night free dinner. So, go enjoy the great friendship and of course the great food.

Until next week, stay safe and please keep our fire fighters in your prayers.
