Marlene Lima

Madill High School senior Marlene Lima is a determined and driven individual with a passion for soccer. The 17 year old was born to parents Amelia Carrillo and Joel Lima. Her siblings include Benancio Carrillo, Victor Garces, Danny Lima, and Joey Lima.

Having spent the past seven years in Madill, Lima said she has become deeply rooted in the community and has cherished her time at the high school. While soccer is her sole sports endeavor, it holds a significant place in her heart. She has dedicated countless hours to training and perfecting her skills on the field.

Reflecting on her favorite memory over the years, Lima fondly recalled the joy she experienced upon coming to Madill.Witnessingherbrothers play football ignited a sparkwithinherandinspired her to push herself harder. She acknowledged the role her family has played in her athletic journey and is grateful for their support.

However, she said it is her grandmother who serves as her biggest inspiration in life. Her unwavering love and support have motivated Lima to strive for success in all aspects of her life.

Lima expressed her gratitude to her coaches for the incredible four years she has spent under their guidance. Their knowledge, guidance, and belief in her abilities shaped her into the player she is today. She said she is thankful for the valuable lessons they have taught her both on and off the field.

In addition to her coaches, Lima extended her heartfelt appreciation to her mother for always being there for her. Looking ahead, Lima said she set her sights on attending cosmetology school in Durantaftergraduatingfrom high school. Her dream is to become a flight attendant in the future, combining her passion for travel and her love for making others feel their best.

As a senior, Lima offered some words of wisdom to her younger classmates. She said she encourages them to cherish and enjoy their time in high school, emphasizing the importance of making lasting memories and embracing every opportunity that comes their way.
