Recently, Madill Police Chief Steven Ray announced his retirement, leaving the position of police chief up for grabs. On January 26, Madill City Manager James Fullingim announced that Donny Raley is the new interim Chief of Police.

Raley began his police journey in 1987 as a reserve officer. He became a fully certified officer in 2005. He has 36 years of experience in law enforcement.

He worked in Juvenile Affairs with probation and parole for 13 years, worked for the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office for 11 years. For MCSO, he served roles of jail administrator and undersheriff.

He shifted gears and worked as a deputy for the Carter County Sheriff from 2012 to 2016. Even though he retired from the CCSO, the retirement only lasted two days.

That was when he began working for the Madill Police Department as the CommunityRelations/Public Information Officer.

He holds several certifications; one is the Advance CLEET certification. He obtained the highest accreditation through CLEET in 2010.

Raley said his main goal is to protect and serve the community. He said he also wants MPD to be more involved in the community. He will continue to serve as the emergency manager for the City of Madill.
