Mendez's journey in the world of flowers began in 2018 when she discovered her love for floral arrangements. Inspiredbythebeauty and symbolism of flowers, she said she decided to turn her passion into a business. In August of 2022, Mendez opened Sweet Petals.

Mendez said family is at the heart of her motivation and drive. They have been her number one supporters throughout her journey, providingtheencouragement and love that keeps her going. Mendez said what she loves most about her work is not just the creative aspect of arranging flowers but the joy it brings to people's lives.

Before embarking on her floral journey, Mendez worked as a receptionist at a hair salon in Madill. Although she enjoyed her previousjob,Mendezsaidshe felt a deep longing to pursue her true passion and make a meaningful impact through her work.

Growing up in Kingston, Oklahoma, Mendez has always been surrounded by the beauty of nature. She said her hometown's scenic landscapes and vibrant flora served as an early inspiration for her love of flowers.

Looking towards the future, Mendez said her aspirations are simple yet ambitious. She aims to continue growingandexpanding Sweet Petals, exploring new opportunities and challenges that come her way.
