We wrapped up deadline week at the Capitol. This session, we heardabout422 House Bills and Joint Resolutions.

I passed two bills off the HouseFloorthis week: House Bill 3760 and HouseBill3762.

House Bill 3760 seeks to define “medication preparation” as mentioned in the Nursing Home Care Act. The bill gives licensed nurses the right to prepare medications for administration within the scope of their licensure. This bill will help meet workforce demands in long-term care facilities throughout the state.

Additionally, House Bill 3762 enables counties in a multi-county library system to seek a review of the system’s budget and estimated needs with a 2/3 vote from all participating county commissioners’ boards. The executive director or accounting lead is tasked with providing the requested data. The reviewsitemustbemutuallyagreed upon or based in the county with the highest funding contribution.

We will begin hearing bills from theoppositechambernextweekand have until April 27 to consider them. I authored four Senate Bills: Senate Bill 1627, Senate Bill 1512, Senate Bill 1771, and Senate Bill 1948. I’ll explain these bills later and keep everyone updated on their legislative progress.

The Oklahoma Youth Expo officially kicked off on March 11. It’s considered the largest junior livestock show in the world. Every March, more than 7,000 members of the 4-H and FFA organizations bring over 13,000 heads of livestock, including cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, and ag mechanics projects, to Oklahoma City for exhibition.

The Youth Expo’s mission is to provide Oklahoma 4-H and FFA members with opportunities to showcase their agricultural projects, develop their leadership skills, and contribute to society. To date, more than $4 million has been raised to support this goal.

The best of luck to all the hardworking FFAand4-Hstudentsfrom across the state!
