Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Do you have a chore or task in mind you can do to let your loved one know you love and appreciate them? Of course, flowers and/ or chocolates are less work and probably relay the same message, right?
The Texoma Southern Baptist Church will be hosting a Valentine’s Banquet on Wednesday, February 12 at 6:00 p.m. The cost is $9.00 and is for adults only. There will be fun games and prizes to give away. Guaranteed to highlight your evening. Also, on Saturday, February 15 from 9:00 a.m. to noon, the Open Arms Clothes Closet, located at the church, will be open to anyone interested in shopping for some much-needed clothes. All are welcome.
The Shay Community Center will again be hosting their monthly potluck this month on Thursday, February 13 at 6:30 p.m. Bring your favorite dish and enjoy the visit with your neighbors.
The Buncombe Creek Ladies Auxiliary will be meeting at the Shay CC on Tuesday, February 18 at 11:30 p.m. for their monthly meeting. They sure would like to see some new members. Come by and meet the ladies. That same evening, the Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. will be holding their monthly meeting at the Fire Dept. at 7:00 p.m. Stop by and hear what is going on.
March is right around the corner, so be ready to attend the festivities of the “Burning of the Socks.” The event is sure to please, so plan to attend. There will be activities throughout the day. This fundraiser will be held Saturday, March 14 in the Buncombe Creek Marina parking lot. Stay safe and have a good week.
