It was nice getting a few rain showers on Saturday, the first few days of August. School will start on Thursday, August 8 in Kingston, so caution for school children is advised.
The Shay Community Center will host their Ice Cream Social on Thursday, August 8 starting at 6:30 p.m. Bring your favorite Ice Cream with syrup, if desired, or cakes or cookies and enjoy tasting the various toppings provided.
The Lake Texoma Bash for Cash is almost here. Mark your calendars for August 15 for live and silent auction items along with a great meal and music to be held at the Tanglewood Lodge.
I want to mention a celebration to reflect on 60 years of marriage for Bill & Janelle Hadley. It will be a come and go event to be held on Sunday, August 11 from
2:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m. at the Shay Community Center. Please bring cards only, no gifts. The Hadley’s would love to share their anniversary with friends and family, so please come by.
A sad time for Buncombe Creek with the passing of Dwayn Northcutt, on Friday, August
9. He was a longtime member of our area who was always there to give a helping hand when needed. He will be greatly missed by so many.
