Bonham named an OSU Outstanding Senior

–Rio Bonham, a biosystems and agricultural engineering major from Madill, Oklahoma was selected as an Oklahoma State University Outstanding Senior for the 2022-2023 academic year by theOSUAlumniAssociation.

The Outstanding Seniors awardrecognizesseniorswho show excellence through academic achievement; campus andcommunityinvolvement; academic, athletic, or extracurricular honors or awards; scholarships and work ethic during their time at OSU.

While at OSU, Bonham was served as secretary of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers and the Ferguson College of Agriculture representative in Alpha Epsilon. He was the community service chairforFarmhouseFraternity and a member of the walkaroundsteeringcommittee for America’s Greatest Homecoming. Bonham was also a senator for the Ferguson College of Agriculture Student Council. His community involvement includes implementing a fishing line recycling program, being a Collegiate Volunteer with Oklahoma FFA, participating in Into the Streets, Stamp OutStarvationMealPacking and attending Eagle Heights Baptist Church.

Bonham was recognized as a 2022 Senior of Significance and Farm Foundation Cultivator. He is an OSU Niblack ResearchScholar,OSU Wentz Research Scholar and OSUCEATScholar.Bonham was an OSU nominee for the National Udall Scholarship.

“OSU has given me the chance to do things I didn’t know I could,” Bonham said. “As well as see things I never thoughtIwould.Thanks,and Go Pokes!”

After graduation, Bonham plans to pursue a doctorate in agricultural and biological engineering from the University of Florida.

A private, limited-capacity reception honoring the Outstanding Seniors will be held April 6 at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center in Stillwater.
