MPS BOE discusses bonds

The Madill Board of Education held a special meeting on January 10. Agenda items one through four were general housekeeping items.

Item five was for the board to receive bids for the $2,215,000 of General Obligation Combined Purpose Bonds of said school district, and awarded to the highest bidder. There were six bids submitted to the board with itbeingawardedtothelowest bidder 1st United Bank and Trust Company- Madill, associated with Country Club Bank of Kansas.

The bid was for net cost of $311,037.25 and an average interest rate of 4.745038%. The board motioned to accept this bid.

Items six was to consider and take action on a resolution providing for the issuance of the General Obligation Combined Purpose Bonds in the sum of $2,215,000 by said school district, authorized at an election called and held for such purpose; prescribing form of bonds; providing registration there of; providing for levy of an annual tax for the payment of principal and interest on the same, and fixing other details of issue. The item was adopted by the board.

The Madill Board of Education meets on the second Monday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Administrative Board Room located at 510 W. McArthur Street in Madill.
