On March 13, two Kingston seniors followed Dakota Sliger’s footsteps by making history. They both signed their college letters of intent to play Shooting sports at Murray State College.

Rhett Coble said the decision to attend Murray State was an easy one.

“I like that it’s closer to home and I can do something that I enjoy,” he said.

He said he thinks that the opportunity to attend college while on the shooting team will open many doors for him. Coble noted that his mom was and always has been his biggest fan and best supporter. He said his plans are to try to get his stuff done as quickly as possible, so he doesn’t get backed up on homework.

He had advice for the underclassmen. “Keep your head down and keep working.”

Gill said he chose Murray State because it was comfortable. “After taking concurrent classes and getting to know the coach and falling in love with the sport,” he said about why he chose the campus.

Gill said the sport is growing, so that will open many doors for him. He said his plan is to go into Nursing and the shooting scholarship will help him pay for his school. He smiled and said that he’ll be paying for his school while doing what he loves.

He gave credit to his Lord for getting where he is, today. “WithoutmyLordandSavior Jesus Christ, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” he said.

He said that no matter what, he will focus on his academics because it always comes first. His advice to the underclassmen is to “follow your dreams. Anything is possible with the Lord.”
