The Madill Lady Wildcats recently defeated Byng on the slow-pitch diamond, 15-5. The Lady ‘Cats then lost to Sulphur, 15-7.

Madill Lady Wildcats 15, Byng Lady Pirates 5

The Lady ‘Cats jumped out ahead of Byng in the top of the first inning, scoring five runs on three hits, two defensive errors, and a walk.

Bailey Gammill, Rylee Ruff, Kyann Melton, Kristen Chapa, and Kortlyn Yow each scored a run for Madill in the inning.

Byng managed to plate two runs in the bottom of the first innings, but Madill remained in the lead, 5-2, to end the first.

The Lady ‘Cats hit stride once again in the top of the second inning, adding four more runs to the board.

Ximena Gomez started the inning with a single to left field. She was plated on a two-run home run by Gammill.

Three consecutive hits eventually scored two more runs for Madill. Melton and Chapa scored again for the Lady ‘Cats.

Madill then held a 9-2 lead over Byng entering the bottom of the second inning.

The Lady Pirates plated three more runs in the bottom of the inning, cutting Madill’s lead to 9-5.

The Lady ‘Cats managed to hold Byng scoreless throughout the next two innings, while scoring six additional runs.

Madill plated Gammill and Gomez (on a Gammill home run) in the top of the third inning.

Melton, Chapa, Madison Jowers, and Abbey Tiernan each scored a run for the Lady ‘Cats in the top of the fourth inning.

Madill held on to cliam a 15-5 run-rule win over Byng.

Gammill led the Lady ‘Cats at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two home runs. She also earned four RBIs.

Melton went 3-for-3 at the plate for Madill, scoring three runs for the Lady ‘Cats.

Sulphur Lady Bulldogs 15, Madill Lady Wildcats 7

A seven run fourth inning sent Sulphur ahead ofMadill, and the Lady ‘Cats couldn’t overcome the deficit, giving the Lady Bulldogs a run-rule victory.

Sulphur managed to score four runs in the top of the first inning, taking an early lead over Madill.

In the bottom of the inning, the Lady ‘Cats plated five runs on six hits and a walk. Gammill, Melton, Yow, Jowers, and Cloe Austin scored for Madill in the inning.

The Lady ‘Cats held a 5-4 lead over Sulphur after the first inning.

Sulphur scored one run in the top of the second inning to tie Madill 5-5.

The Lady ‘Cats were held scoreless in the bottom of the second inning, but the game remained tied at 5-5 to enter the third inning.

Two runs were plated in the top of the third inning by Sulphur, giving them a 7-5 lead over Madill.

The Lady ‘Cats tied the game once again after a third inning, two-run home run by Austin. Madill and Sulphur were tied at 7-7 to enter the fourth inning.

It was in the top of the fourth inning that Sulphur took the lead and essentially won the game. The Lady Bulldogs scored seven runs on seven hits.

Sulphur then held a 14-7 lead over Madill at the middle of the fourth inning.

The Lady ‘Cats were held scoreless in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings.

Sulphur plated another run in the top of the fifth inning to seal the 15-7 victory over Madill.

Gammill, Melton, Austin, and Yow each went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lady ‘Cats.

The Madill Lady Wildcats traveled to Sulphur to face the Lady Bulldogs again as well as the Kingston Lady Redskins on Wednesday, April 18, for the District Championship.
