Ezekiel Fuentes is a senior basketball player at Madill High School. He has attended Madill public schools for ten years.

He is the son of Jose and Lidia Fuentes and has three siblings, Carlos, Luis, and Sergio.

Over the years, Fuentes has participated in several sports. He has played basketball, soccer, football, and golf. He was named First Team All-Conference in basketball his sophomore and junior year.

Fuentes said out of all the sports and events, his favorite memories have been his basketball games. His high school years brought him new challenges. He said his biggest challenge in high school was playing football for the first time this year as a senior.

He cites his brothers as his inspiration and love for sports, and his mother for the support.

“When it comes to sports and inspiration, my brothers have been my biggest because since I was little, they have always encouraged me to play every sport I can,” Fuentes said. “But now, my mom has inspired me the most in life. Her work ethic is what has always inspired me to always keep pushing like she does.”

Fuentes said his coaches have played a big part of his life, as well.

“I’d like to say thank you to all my coaches for always pushing me to be the best,” Fuentes said. “I would also like to say thank you to my parents for always having my back and providing everything I need.”

Fuentes’s advice to the younger classman is to always try and participate in school events and play every sport possible. He said his plans after school is to make everyone who believed in him proud in some way.
