Brandon Stevens is a senior wrestler at Madill High School. His parents are Michael Stevens and Leann Shear. He has a younger brother by the name of Bentley Shear. He has attended Madill public schools for twelve years.

Stevens currently wrestles but has participated in football and track as well. He has placed in several tournaments and won multiple medals for wrestling as well as over 100 medals for track. Over the years Stevens says his biggest challenges has been having to push himself to do things others aren’t always willing to do and to do them better. He proclaims that his favorite memory, of all his many years of sports, is from all the days of going into the weight room with coach Vargas and Coach Mac.

“I’d like to thank coach Turbo and coach Love for believing in me and even when I failed them, them still never gave up on me!” Stevens says.

Stevens proudly talks about his father and grandfather being a big inspiration in his life because they both were state placers in wrestling. He then talks about how his uncle Jo has probably inspired him more than anyone else in life. “He’s the reason why I try to work so hard today and is the reason why I am as honest as I am. He’s always been the one person in my life who is straight forward with me and everyone else and is rarely seen not working.” Stevens proudly states.

When it comes to his parents, Stevens says he appreciates his dad for always being there for him and giving him he right advice when he needs it, even when it hurts. He states that he is grateful for his mother as well because she has always been there for him and encouraging him through life, even when he hasn’t always made the best decisions.

After graduation Stevens plans to attend trade school to get his license for hvac and work until he can start his own business. His advice for the younger classmates are, “Let them doubt you and prove them wrong.”
