Abbie Lambertsen is a senior basketball player for the Madill High School. Her proud parents are Tim and Julie Lambertsen. She has an older sister named Kelsie Lambertsen and a younger brother named Colby Lambertsen. She has attended Madill public schools since Pre-K.

During middle school, Lambertsen played basketball along with track. When high school came around, she decided to focus on basketball alone. She said her biggest challenge over the years is her attitude.

“I’m the world’s worst, and I admit it,” Lambertsen said. “I honestly need to tell my coaches I would like to say that I am sorry for my attitude and how bad it’s been lately. I have truly been working on it and thank you for always being straight up with me.”

She said her sister has been a huge inspiration because she used to play ball in school and she wanted nothing more than to be able to play like she did. In fact, her favorite memory from basketball is from her freshman year when her sister was a senior and she got to play with her on the same team.

“My dad has definitely inspired me as well, in life and basketball,” Lambertsen mused. “He’s always told me to play for myself and who care what the crowd thinks.”

“I would like to say thank you to my parents for always being there for me when I would have a bad day or practice,” she continued. “Thank you for making me stick with basketball no matter how many times I’ve cried wanting to quit. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

Lambertsen said she’s not sure what she wants to do after high school.

“The whole college thing just is not for me. I will leave it up to God to figure out my path because I have no idea.”

As far as her advice for the younger ladies that play ball, she said to “always keep your head up no matter what and to take your time because basketball season flies by so fast.”
