Oliver Wendyl Ross 83, of McMillan, Okla. passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla. He was born on October 18, 1936 in Marshall County, Okla. on Tyler Road to the late William David Ross and Lillie Garrison Ross.

Wendyl was raised in Madill and moved to Elk City where he graduated high school in the small community of Highway. He joined the United States Army and served for several years receiving an honorable discharge. Wendyl married Andrea Morello on July 14, 1975 in Las Vegas, Nev.

He later lived in California and worked for GTE phone company as a lineman for over 30 years. Wendyl also lived in Frederick, Okla. before moving back to Madill in 1991 where he lived the rest of his life. He was an active member of the First Assembly of God church in Madill. He helped run the church sound system, served on the church board for many years and for the past 20 plus years as Sunday School Superintendent. Wendyl enjoyed mowing, farming, and doing work with his tractor. His great love was his family.

He is survived by his wife Andrea Ross of McMillan, Okla., his children; Oliver Wendyl Ross Jr. and wife Kerry of Hesperia, Calif., Kim Hart of McMillam, Okla.,Kerri Wenner and husband Patrick of Woodward, Okla., Laela Hammons of McMillan, Okla., grandchildren; Kaelee Rawls, Tyler Ross, Maycie Pruitt, Dan Hand, Zach Hand, Emilee Hammons, Allysen Ross, Kyle Trusty, Blake Trusty, Madison Wenner and Makenzie Wenner, and 16 great grandchildren.

Wendyl was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Ralph Ross, one daughter; Carmen, one son in-law; Dave Hammons, one great grandson; Joey Rawls, four brothers, and three sisters.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and a family hour from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Service will be Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Pastor Jeff Manuel will officiate the service. Interment will be at the McMillan Cemetery in McMillan, Okla.
