Mark Joseph Hermes passed away on April 19, 2020 in Woodbine, Texas. Mark was born December 30, 1940 in Lindsay, Texas to Anthony Henry and Theresa Mary (Koesler) Hermes.

He graduated from Subiaco Academy in 1959 and attended one year of college there. Mark married Dolores Margaret Koelzer on October 5, 1963 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster, Texas.

He worked in the oil field and as a dairy farmer. Mark was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed fishing in his free time.

His survivors include his wife, Dolores Koelzer Hermes of Woodbine, Texas; daughter Michelle Hermes of Woodbine, Texas; son Chris Hermes of Woodbine, Texas; daughter Leah Groce and husband Jared of Era, Texas; daughter Karen Mendoza and husband Guadalupe of Krum, Texas; grandchildren: Alex, Jacki, Sami, Dustin, and Dakota; great-grandchildren: Dustin and Abigail; sister Rosemary Dankesreiter and husband Tommy of Muenster, Texas; brother Ralph Hermes and wife Debbie of Collinsville, Texas; brother Frances Hermes of Lindsay, Texas; brother-in-law Victor Koelzer; sister-in-law Aileen Knabe of Muenster, Texas; brother-in-law Wilfred Koelzer of Keller, Texas; sister-in-law Alice Hermes of Lindsay, Texas; sister-in-law Veronica Jones of Madill, Okla.; brother-in-law Norman Koelzer of Muenster, Texas; and brother-in-law Melvin Koelzer and wife Bobbie of Muenster, Texas.

Mark was preceded in death by: his parents; brother Cecil Hermes; brother Cyril Hermes; and brother Randy Hermes.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Muenster, Texas. He will lie in repose at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville, Texas from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22.
