Jimmy Wayne Perdue, 85, of Collinsville, Texas passed away on March 12, 2024. He was born in Pottsboro, Texas on February 12, 1939, to Fred Perdue, Sr. and Fannie (Cook) Perdue.

Jimmy loved to work, and it was his passion. He also served on the Collinsville City Council from 1987-1998. Jimmy was an independent trucker for over 50 years, known to his friends as the Diesel Doctor. He never met a stranger and he would help anyone with anything. Jimmy was a husband of 61 years and a father of four children. His laugh was well known and was always proud of his kids and all their accomplishments.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Perdue, Sr. and Fannie Perdue.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Melba Perdue of Collinsville, Texas; son, Josh Hamm and wife, Susannah of Anna,Texas;son,RandyHammandwife,DanielleofValley View, Texas; daughter, Amanda Workman and husband, Timothy of Whitesboro, Texas; daughter, Amber Perdue of Collinsville, Texas; grandchildren, Nathan, Rainey, Levi, Wyatt, Breckyn; siblings, Fred Perdue, Jr., Maxine Arnold, Sherry Clark, Jerry Perdue, Sue Payne & Ricky Payne; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas. Funeral service was held on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. also at Meador Funeral Home with Ricky Patterson officiating. Interment followed at Collinsville Cemetery in Collinsville, Texas.

Pallbearers were Jerry Don Stuckey, Doug McBeth, Jr., Troy Weldon, Randy Woody, Todd Henry and Dorsey Jack Lewter. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Shebester, Ronny Reed, Layne Lewter, Dennis Palmer and Karo Denton.
