Graveside services for Glenn Boyce Hunsucker, 83, Madill, formerly of Oklahoma City, Okla. were 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall. Rodney Sprayberry officiated.

Mr. Hunsucker died Saturday, April 25, 2020 in Kingston, Okla. He was born October 23, 1936 in Ada, Okla. to Clay Dale Hunsucker and Clara Alma Davis Hunsucker. He graduated from Ada High School.

Mr. Hunsucker served in the Oklahoma National Guard and later in the United States Army Reserves. He was activated during the Berlin Crisis. He was honorably discharged after serving for eight years. Mr. Hunsucker attended East Central University. He later received a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement from Hardin-Simmons University and a Master of Arts in Police Administration from Sam Houston State University.

Mr. Hunsucker began his law enforcement career as a police officer in Ada, Okla. and eventually serving as a detective sergeant. He then went to work for East Central University as a Criminal Investigator for the College Security Department. Moving to Texas, Glenn served with the police department of Big Springs, Texas as a Sergeant in the patrol division. While serving in this capacity, he was recruited to join Wayland Baptist University and develop and teach a new Criminal Justice degree program. He spent 8 years developing this program and serving as Chairman of the Department of Criminal Justice. Mr. Hunsucker then went to work for Santa Fe Railroad as a Special Agent. He served in several different positions while with the Santa Fe and then Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad retiring as Assistant Chief of Police of the BNSF. Mr. Hunsucker was a certified peace officer in several states including Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.

Mr. Hunsucker married Mary Beth Scott November 24, 1976. They established their home in Plainview, Texas and later lived in Oklahoma City, Raton, N.M, Olathe, Kan. and Topeka, Kan. She was the true love of his life and served by his side in all that he did.

With all his career accomplishments, his greatest legacy is that he treated all those on both sides of the law with respect and compassion no matter who they were or where they came from. His fair treatment of those that he dealt with saved his life on at least one occasion.

Mr. Hunsucker was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his children, Elaine Benson and husband Kevin of Madill, Okla. and Mark Hunzaker and wife Susan of Cary of N.C.; grandchildren, Kristin Turnpaugh and husband Zach, of-Strawn, Texas, Kacy Benson of Madill, Okla., Nathan Hunzaker and wife Mary Beth of Redwood City, Calif., Michelle Hunzaker and fiancée, Nick Lucchesi, of Apex, N.C., Alice Kim, Herndon of Va. and Hannah Kim of Durham, N.C.
