Betty Marie Boecker went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 12, 2020. Betty was born June 20, 1940 in Hawthorn, Calif. to John Bruce Nutt and Exie Mae (Davis) Nutt, she was the oldest of five daughters.

In her younger years, Betty owned and operated her own beauty salon in War Acers, Okla. where she was an accomplished hair stylist. She later moved to Lahoma, Okla. where she became a licensed alcohol and drug counselor specializing in adolescent drug and alcohol treatment.

She and her husband, Tom, moved to the Buncombe Creek area in 1995. Betty was very active in her church, Texoma Southern Baptist as a Sunday School teacher, Director of Women on Missions, as well as any activities going on at the church. She was also very active in her community as a long standing member and past board member of the Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Department, member of the Buncombe Creek Ladies Auxiliary and Community Center, Queen Mother of the Buncombe Babes Red Hat Society and was famous for her appearance as Johnny Cash in the BCLA Talent Show.

Betty is survived by her husband, Thomas Boecker; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Robert Ita of Buncombe Creek; sisters, Annette Scott of Buncombe Creek, Jeanette Nutt of Wichita Kan., Debi and brother-in-law Gary Koch of Spring Texas and Monna Fallis of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Daniel, Shirley, Rochelle, Stephanie, Becky and Molly: great grandchildren, Samantha, Elijah, Jaden, Christina, Tristin, Colin, Ella, Aiden, Johnny, and Rebecca; great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; son Douglas Ray Houston and daughter Denise Marie Houston.

A celebration of life service will be scheduled at a later date at Texoma Southern Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Texoma Southern Baptist Church Banner Fund or the Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Her final arrangements will be handled by her dear friends at Watt’s Funeral Home where she will be cremated. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
