Traditions
Traditions are revered in America. All of us grew up with traditions that will always be remembered. The throwing of the first pitch by a celebrity or a political figure, Sunday lunches with our families. Both traditions have been going on for many years.
One of the oldest traditions in Marshall County is the annual Madill High School Alumni banquet and the initiation of the seniors during the week leading up to the banquet. The first annual banquet was in 1934 and has been held every year since with the exception of three years during World War II, 1943 through 1945. Also, 2020 due to the COVID virus.
On May 21, 2021, the Madill Alumni Association will continue the long honored tradition of holding the banquet honoring the senior classes of 2020 and 2021. The fifty year class of 1971 will also be honored.
Traditions are important values passed to future generations. We must remember the past and look forward to the future. So, mark your calendars for May 21, 2021 for a great time with old friends and the making of new ones; continuing a wonderful tradition.
