The Auxiliary met on November 20, 2023, with 20 members in attendance. Everyone recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

Sandy B. presented a humorous reading. The group welcomed two guests, Chrystal TatumandToniHignight. Chrystal Tatum was the guest speaker. She lives on Whispering Way in Washita Point. She and her husband, Scott, have lived there for 14 yrs. Tatum has been a Mary Kay consultant/Sales Director for 35 years.

She has a special project that she created two years ago. It is an adopt a grandparent project, where she makes Christmas stockings and stuffs them with non-slip socks, toothbrushes, soap, body lotion, lip balm, candy treats and a stuffed animal. She is working in conjunction withtheDurantRotaryClub. She has made and given out 464 stockings, so far.

She gave each member a small bag of Mary Kay samples and hand lotion. She alsodoesreversemortgagesif anyone has any questions on that she will be happy to help.

The Door Prize was won by Merry. Mary Green had a birthday this month. The group sang happy birthday and she picked a gift from the box.

There were three fires and 13 EMS calls last month.

The Texoma Fire Auxiliary usually meets on the 3rd Monday of the month at 1:30 p.m. with a social gathering at 1 p.m. prior to the meeting. The December meeting will occur on Monday, December 18, 2023. This will be the Christmas Party which will start at 11 a.m. for a short meeting. It will be followed by a Potluck Dinner and a Dirty Santa Gift Exchange. Anybody wishing to play, bring a wrapped gift with cost limit of $20. Don’t forget a food item to share.

The Texoma Fire District Board of Directors meets the first Thursday of the Month at the Training/Community Center located at 10978 Parkview at 6:30 p.m. The next meeting will be on January 4, 2924. All are welcome to attend.

The Exercise/Stretching classes are on Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. Cards/ Games are on the second and fourth Tuesday at 12 p.m. Auxiliary members are welcome to join in For anyone interested in renting the Texoma Community Building, Contact Gayla Freeman at 580-565-1400. Returncallsmightbedelayed as this is the Auxiliary phone and it is being monitored on a twice a week basis. So please give plenty of heads-up time. The cost is $75 per day. The building can only be rented by a member of the Texoma Fire District. Be advised, the capacity of the auxiliary building is 158.

The Lighthouse Methodist Church located at 4923 Alberta Creek Road provides an evening meal from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Lighthouse Kids Program for grade school children consisting of Bible stories, crafts and games is held each Wednesday 6 p.m. to 7p.m. following the meal.

Margaritas are still 1/2 price all day every Tuesday at Gecko’s on Hwy 70 east of Kingston.
